I did two paintings today. The other one sucks because I can’t paint leaves (again) so I decided to do something easy and fun. I really like this guy. And I was too lazy to find another picture of an animal I liked. He’s going on the studio wall 😊
I keep drawing this guy. It’s more for practice than anything else, since I’m using a brush pen and they’re a bit difficult to control. I’m gonna throw some watercolours on this one.
I opened a pad of watercolor paper today and found a half finished elephant drawing in ink. So I added some more details and a few drops. I think I’m gonna add a colour wash to it later. Maybe.
All done. Pretty happy with it. I have a final step to make it into a piece of jewelry. #elephant #drawing #sketch #art #vector

It’s Chris’s birthday tomorrow. I just got him some T-shirts. So to make his present a little more special I made him some special wrapping paper. I know him. He’s gonna dig the paper way more than the T-shirts. I do too actually.

I’m just posting this cause I always like to see how people make their art. I actually remembered to take pictures of the process for once. Yay me!
The photo is the main pic I used for inspiration, along with a few others. I did the white background and the majority of the painting with acrylic paints. For the decorations and outlines on the trunk I used Posca paint markers.
I felt the painting was a little flat so I used a fan brush to do the splatters. Messy but so much fun! I added a few light washes of acrylic paint for dimension and there you have it! My Elly.
I finished him! This guy’s on the desk in my studio. I love him!
